| On July 19, 2003, The Short Beach H H & L (Engine 4) and Rescue Company 1 of The Branford Fire Department held their annual picnics located in the rear of fire headquarters. In addition to the two companies attending, Divisions 2 & 4 of Local 2533 and The Departments Administration where also invited. This event is important to the companies, it allows members to show their families why they dedicate so many hours of service to this brotherhood. Activities were available for all age ranges including: volleyball, bocce, swimming, and not to forget the endless amount of incredible food and refreshments. The evening was closed out by the second annual volleyball championship Union vs. Volunteers. With a final score of Volunteers 3 Union 1. A special thanks goes out to Lt. James Murray Jr. whose hard work and planning made this event possible and memorable. |
